Poll shows only 7% of people shopping on Black Friday

A local TV station in Portland, Oregon conducted a short poll on what people were doing on Black Friday. The results were announced today on the evening TV news. I thought the answers were pretty much what I thought they would be.

Here is the choices people were given and the percentage of the results:
Question: What will you be doing on Black Friday?
  • shopping - 7%
  • sleeping in and digesting all that food eaten on Thanksgiving - 24%
  • Spending time with family or friends - 25%
  • Going back to work - 43%
  • Unsure - 1%
So it looks like most people have to work the day after Thanksgiving. I ended up running errands all over town to places that are normally closed on Saturdays, the day when I normally get a chance to run errands.

Now according to the results of that poll, it looks like not many people are spending those hard earned dollars yet. What I did find out from their news broadcast was that most people are using cash and not credit to buy things this Christmas.
