Have you often wondered why you can't seem to get ahead financially? I know a few families that have incomes in excess of $100K a year and are on the verge of losing their homes to foreclosure. On the surface they seem to have everything under control but when visiting them you realize that there is tension in the home. So what seems to be the problem? One of the adults in each family suffers from ADHD but what is adhd? ADHD is a problem with inattentiveness, over-activity, impulsivity, or a combination of the two.
The problem with the money stems from the fact that each adult in each family has access to large amounts of credit. The adult suffering from ADHD is often the one left at home during the day and is bored. From boredom stems the impulse buying and the cleanest home I have ever seen. That one adult shops online and I just found out recently plays poker online too - for money. I don't think their spouse knows about the gambling.
It use to be, years ago, that when lots of money was available for those with addictive personalities, drugs were the choice of recreation. Now it seems that the internet is playing a part in those people who would not think about becoming addicted to drugs. Those people become addicted to online gambling, paid online games, become paying members of gaming communities or porn sites.
To get a handle on the family finances you and your spouse need to know where every penny goes. If a child or adult is spending money online and is secretive about it then someone needs to make some calls to the credit card companies for complete detailed activity report and a call to the banks that have the debit cards for the same thing.
Don't be blind sighted by a spouse or child that is spending all of the family income.
