Lam Research is layoff 600 workers

My husband use to work at Lam Research 15 years ago and I worked at HP briefly that used the Lam plasma etchers. It has always been our experience that when Lam cuts back it's work force you can expect the whole computer industry to have massive layoffs in the next 6 to 9 months. Lam makes the machines that make the silicon wafers that is so important to the computer industry as a whole. Lam along with Applied Materials are the companies to watch for to see how the electronics industry will be for the next year.
