The world is at my fingers - so to speak

How can it be that the internet has provided so many people to become rich overnight? Of course I speak of Bill Gates and the other techies out there. They are the ones that have provided the means to type to each other over vast distances and send documents and photos without the post office. Businesses in general have jumping into the waters as well. They are the main providers of income for the websites and advertisers. The internet has also provided giant websites like Amazon, eBay, Google and MSN, but what about the utterly millions of websites out there that really struggle to get just one visitor a day? I have actually visited a website where I was the first or second visitor and the website had news from 2004! WOW!!

Has the internet which started out as almost a library with lots of info now become an advertising mecca? I have even added the Google AdSense ads to this blog, in hopes that someone will click on the ads and I get a poultry .2 cents a click......LOL. Yes I have the the rumours of bloggers making a living doing what I am doing right now....sitting at a keyboard, typing our little hearts out and getting yelled at by another member of the family to get off the F***ING internet!! I don't think I'll be calling Merrill Lynch soon to invest my hard earned blogging wages.

What I will do is see if I sell another item on eBay, look at more employment ads and see if there are any other I can make my ends meet.

It is so frustrating, not finding a job

I spend hours upon hours sitting at this computer looking for a job - nothing. I am either under qualified or over qualified. I just got turned down by Target stores! My God that is a minimum wage job and they don't want me! Of course they did tell me that there were over 25 applicants for about 5 jobs so I guess they got the young pretty ones.

Every time I try to apply for one of those retail jobs the same thing happens, they tell me that they are looking for someone with retail experience. What kind of GAWD DAMN experience does someone need to straighten out the clothes rack!!!!!

I have over 20 years experience in the robotics and aerospace industry. I have high tech written all over me. Of course the high tech jobs were sent overseas or at least that is what it seems. With all the news about China putting lead in their products maybe someone will have some sense and bring back the jobs to the USA, so we can all have a job again.

I just need to survive!!!

I got laid-off last July 2007 and I was hoping to find another job by now. When I am working I always have the highest hopes in paying off my debts and getting ahead some how. Then I get laid off - yet again. My debts are small. My biggest one is my dentist bill for a root-canal that I don't or should I say can't afford dental insurance. That one is to the tune of $1400.00

Back in what I call the good old days, I would stay with a job until the company either moved or shut down. My 2 longest jobs were 8 and 11 years each. The one I just got laid-off from, I was there for 2 years.

Hence my slogan at the top of my blog - "Trying to make ends meet"

This blog is mainly for the sole reason of keeping my sanity while trying to figure out how to pay the bills. I do plan on writting about my progress or lack of - right here. Anyone reading this can either rub their greedy little hands and say "gotcha" or reach out and and say "there - there, it will get better, cuz I've been there too."

It has been a slow start

Now that I have started to blog it is getting hard to find the time to write. I have lots of ideas while I am driving to town or doing the dishes but I draw a blank when I sit down to type. I am going to have to keep a notepad and pencil with me so I can jot down all my wonderful ideas for this blog.
